More than 1,000 people converged at Taman Botanikal Negeri Melaka in Ayer Keroh Melaka for the 7th Save Our Rainforest Race (SORR) 2019 on 30 March.

Organised by the Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam Malaysia (PEKA), Save Our Rainforest Race is aimed to create awareness and instilling a sense of love and care towards the environment among Malaysians, with the tagline for the event jointly organised with the Melaka Forestry Department is “Save Our Rainforest to Save Our Wildlife”.

The programme was launched by Exco Perumahan, Kerajaan Tempatan, Alam Sekitar dan Teknologi Hijau Melaka, Datuk Tey Kok Kiew representing Chief Minister of Melaka, Tuan Adly Bin Zahari.

Participants working in pairs to navigate across the forest to complete tasks at selected checkpoints throughout the course until they reach the replanting area where they will then plant the saplings.

We would like to thank Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam Malaysia (PEKA) for having NALS as the youth partner for Save our Rainforest Race 2019. See you next year!
